In this series feature, I enjoy promoting these Filipino bookstagrammers that took up most of my dashboard and inbox with all their mesmerizing content. For this second round, there is a generous mix of old and new content creators that I’ve been following, but also suggested by other creators to me. So don’t hesitate to randomly shoot them messages or comment on their posts because they won’t steal your books or dog-ear any pages *winks*
I already highlighted a number of Filipino bookstagrammers a month ago (check them out here), but I still want to feature more names in my blog soon, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for another round!
Jea | @dj_jea
I first met Jea through a book club a year ago, but have gotten to know her better when she and a couple of her friends made their own book club which I joined eventually. Not only is this bookworm who loves mystery, thrillers, and historical books have her nose constantly buried in between books, but she’s also an amazing singer! So make sure to also go support her music career, because she’s the bomb! Jea’s personal favorite books are Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene, and Hercule Poirot series by Agatha Christie.
Kit | @kit_n_books
Kit, or as we fondly call her Tita Kit in our little group, is also member of the Titas and Titos of BGPH. This soft-spoken mom of two kids is a self-confessed mood reader and mood poser, and her beautiful feed always features the gorgeous books she owns, a lot of cakes and pastries, and a spectacular view of the Baguio scenery! Some of her favorite books are Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, and The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.
Princess | @dbookishprincess
I remember already following Princess’ account since 2017, and I am always amazed at how gorgeous and stylized her cozy and warm bookstagram feed is. If you’re a fan of whimsical photos featuring a lot of fantasy and sci-fi novels, then you’ll adore Princess’ account. Her favorite series includes Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, and the Monsters of Verity by VE Schwab.
One of my very trusted sources when it comes to getting into a new romance book over at Bookstagram is if it’s in any of Bea’s highly recommended list. Her recommendations are spot-on, especially if you want a more romance-heavy book to spice up your reading palate. She reads and reviews any romance novel, but particular enjoys indie romance published works. Bea’s favorite books are In the Company of Killers series by JA Redmerski, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, and Grip Series by Kennedy Ryan.
Jojie | @jojieandbooks
A Shadowhunter Chronicles fan after my own heart! If I’m already obsessed with Cassandra Clare’s books, let me assure you that Jojie’s full-on dedication to the series is even more surprising. I will always be forever jealous of her pink explosion feed featuring a lot of her different editions and book merch of the series. If you’re a fellow fan, her account is obviously worth checking out. Aside from The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments, Jojie also enjoys the A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy by VE Schwab.
Fresh off from her year-long reading slump, Lyra finally decided to join bookstagram, and is here to stay! Her bubbly and friendly personality matches her majestic and colorful photos. This big fantasy fan loves the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, and The Young Elites by Marie Lu.
Xandy | @booksnaps_
Xandy is a bookstagram newbie, but it already making a name within the community with her beautiful photos. This cat mom of 4 fur babies mostly enjoys fantasy novels and writing and creating her own stories. Together with her sister, they had recently ventured into the book subscription box business that mixes books with self-care items. Make sure to also check out their business @micarte.ph. Her favorite books include the Shades of Magic trilogy by VE Schwab, Warcross Duology by Marie Lu, and The Kite Runner by Khalid Hosseini.
Rhea | @rheareads_
Rhea’s bookstagram account is probably one of the most memorable feeds I’ve discovered a couple of years ago. How can you not love her warm, cozy, and magical photos featuring a ton of her favorite books? I also admire her for really engaging with other fellow bookstagrammers to make our community even more welcoming. Her top favorite books are ACourt of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas, Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo, and Shades of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab.
Gabee | @literahua
I only discovered Gabee’s account last 2020, but I was already impressed with her gorgeous light academia-style feed. I’m such a sucker for a clean feed, and hers totally fits the bill. Kudos also to her for using her platform to tackle different issues within the book community and voice out her opinions regarding them. Gabee’s favorite books include A Family Tragicomic by Alison Bechdel, The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
If you’re into warm and cluttered feeds, then Stacey’s page is worth-checking out. I love seeing some of my favorite books also in her photos, so I’m definitely positive that we share a similar love for the same type of books. This adorable chinita loves The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, and Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns of Roses.
I actually just recently discovered Arrah’s account a couple of weeks ago, but I was already in love immediately with her clean and minimalist theme featuring a lot of books and genres I want to try out in the future, such as Japanese literature and non-fiction. Some of her most favorite books include 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
Bianca | @bianca.c.reads
Bianca’s account is suggested to me by another bookstagrammer, and I was glad to discover her! She displays really well-done and fantasical edits in her photos, and I particularly love her Lord of the Rings and dragons photos. Her favorite books include Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
Laine | @laie.ney
One of the nicest people I met since my bookstagram comeback is Laine. Her sweet and caring personality shines through her messages, and it doesn’t hurt that her warm feed featuring her favorite books mixes perfectly with it. Laine’s favorite books are Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan.
Krysten | @cosmothedramer
Krys’ marvelous dark academia vibes feed also features her favorite books, and some dark academia novels that I want to check out. She’s really humble and super nice to talk to about anything under the sun, but most especially a common love for books. The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, Call Me by Your Name by Andre Aciman, and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas are just some of her most loved books.
Ice | @icedpages_
I’ve known Ice a couple years ago, and I was glad to have worked with her in my small business. So I was more than happy and excited that she also did a comeback in the bookstagram community last year! She’s a manga and anime fan who enjoys reading YA and adult fantasy novels in her very cozy pictures. Her top favorite books includes Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses and Throne of Glass, and Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows duology.
Lean | @crooked.pages
Lean’s beautiful account is something I’ve been following for a couple of years already because it’s just so gorgeous and magnificent – and I’m definitely jealous on how he manages pulling this stuff off in his photos. This artsy and crafty bookworm also spends his time creating artworks in his page @artbypudge. Some of his favorite books are the Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan, Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
I always love seeing bookstagrammer’s feature their other hobbies apart from books in their pictures. I’ve been a fan of Dessa’s page for a couple of years now, and I enjoy it whenever she showcases her favorite books and her creations. And the warm and cozy feed she currently has going on is the perfect backdrop for her work. Dessa’s favorite books are The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan, and Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.
Dianne | @the.minimalist.reader
Another one of the accounts I’ve discovered late last year was Dianne’s. I love her very simple photos with their cute doodles scribbled on them, and it also doesn’t hurt that some of the books she had read and featured are books I’ve been keeping my eye on. She’s also really nice to talk to once you get to know her. Fable by Adrienne Young, A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman and The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman are just some of her beloved books.
Iya | @iya.reads
Need some great book reviews and recommendations, especially a lot of YA choices? Make sure to check out Iya’s account! I personally love reading her book reviews because they’re detailed and highlights are obviously emphasized. I already added some books from her suggestions into my tbr, and I can’t wait to get to them. Iya’s favorite book choices include Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan, It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, and Natalie Tan’s book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim.
